He earned his Ph.D. in Information and Communication Technologies in 2022 and master’s degree in electronic engineering in 2017 from the University of Calabria (UNICAL). From October 2019 to April 2022, he was a visiting scholar at the Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
His primary research interests lie in multi-user activity recognition, wearable computing, e-health systems, and the Internet of Things. He focuses on the methodologies, architectures, definitions, and system validations pertinent to multi-user activity recognition.
Throughout his research career, he has actively participated in numerous international and national programs encompassing fundamental and applied research. One of his notable contributions was his instrumental role in designing, developing, testing, and analyzing a contactless monitoring system, a crucial component of the “Research on Key Technologies of Multimodal Intelligent Monitoring for Healthy Elderly Care” project. Additionally, his work has significantly impacted projects supported by prestigious organizations such as the Chinese Academy of Science STS, the European Union’s Horizon 2020, and POR CALABRIA.
He has published 30 conference and journal papers, some of which have been featured in top-tier journals like Information Fusion, with an impact factor of 18. His dedication to academic service has been evident since 2016, as he has served on program committees for numerous international conferences and provided his expertise as a reviewer for over ten journals and magazines.
