Qimeng Li graduated from the University of Calabria (UNICAL) with a master’s degree in electrical engineering in 2017. And he received his Ph.D. in Information and Communication Technologies at UNICAL in 2022. Between Oct. 2019 and Apr. 2022, he was a visiting scholar at Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
His main research interests lie mainly in the field of multi-user activity recognition, wearable computing, e-health system, and the Internet of Things. In particular, the main research directions focus on the definition, methods, architecture, and system verification of multi-user activity recognition.
His research was partially organized within the context of international and national programs (both fundamental and applied research) in which he participated. He contributed significantly to designing, developing, testing, and analyzing a contactless monitoring system in the Research on Key Technologies of Multimodal Intelligent Monitoring for Healthy Elderly Care project. Meanwhile, his research has aided other initiatives supported by the Chinese Academy of Science STS, the European Union’s Horizon 2020, and POR CALABRIA.
The conducted research also made use of academic collaborations established over time with various Italian, Chinese, and other foreign researchers active at European Institute (Bulgarian Academy of Sciences), Chinese universities and institutes (Wuhan University of Technology, Dalian University of Technology, Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology Chinese Academy of Sciences, Hong Kong Polytechnic University).
He has authored or co-authored 18 conference and journal papers, some of which have been published in top journals, including Information Fusion (IF=13). He has been carrying out intense research service activities since 2017. For example, he was part of the program committee of over ten international conferences and served as a reviewer for more than ten journals/magazines.
